How does the SSH lifeline work? We can perform automated tasks to put website live again?

    • Hi,

Thanks for your question. Apollo gives you the option to attach so called ‘SSH commands’ to downtime. If you have routine commands that you perform when a website or service goes down Apollo can perform these checks automatically for you when downtime is detected, the results of these commands will be sent back to your team via Slack so that you can check the logs.

      Hope that helps! 🙂

      – Tom

      • Nathan says:

        Hey lar-tech,

The SSH lifeline allows you to store SSH commands against a chosen website(s) inside of Apollo. When Apollo detects downtime the SSH commands attached to the website will trigger. You can also run SSH commands directly from inside of the Apollo app at any time. If you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our support team and we’ll do our best to help you!

        Thanks,
        – Nathan, Apollo

    Before i leave a review.
There are a lot of things that need to be updated:

    – No support at all? Hell that is so last decade
    – There is not a real branding as lots of things are missing. You may need an imprint on the status page, cookie notice and so on
    – I can not add a new monitor to an existing status page – for real?
    – Fixed language

On the other hand – the price is top notch – but if you require to have some of the listed features – you can not use this service.

    • Nathan says:

      Hey Michael,

Thanks for the feedback. We have support on the website that is available to help 24/7, you can access this by clicking the little chat bubble in the corner of the website.

You can implement custom CSS and JS into the custom status pages at this moment in time, with the release of Apollo 1.2 we will be allowing users to add custom HTML to their status pages and much more.

Thankyou for bringing the monitor issue to our attention, we will get someone to work on this tonight and you will have a fix available for you by tomorrow morning 🎉

Thankyou for the feedback it is greatly appreciated, we hope that we can keep improving the service as we go forward to make sure you get even more value out of your purchase as time goes on!

  • Dharmendra says:

Also posting the question here next to the review:

How does Custom Error Reporting work?

    1. Can we set custom from email address and to email address?
    2. And can we change the message text for the email?
    3. Can we change the error message text for twitter notification?

  • Jose says:

    Hi,

Nice status service! Please do you plan to add custom domains for the status pages (including automatic ssl for them)?

    Thanks!

    • Nathan says:

      Hey Jose,

This is certainly something that we are looking to add very soon. We are going to add private status pages and the features mentioned in your comment will be released with this version. Thankyou for the kind words ! 🎉

  • Cuong says:

    Hi,

    I have some questions:

    1. Can I monitor the servers as well?
    2. Status Page can show percentages of uptime?
    3. Support didn’t work on Livechat. I connect it but no response so far.
    4. Do you have a public roadmap? Apollo is a too newborn app, thought.

    • Nathan says:

      Hey Cuong,

Sorry that someone hasn’t got back to you on our support chat. I’ll answer your enquiry here as it may help other people looking to buy a code for the app.

      1. You can monitor servers on a basic level yes, we will be adding more metrics for servers further down the line. Apollo’s main focus was to monitor websites and use SSH to revive them in the event of downtime.

      2. As mentioned in a comment above there are some changes coming to status pages shortly ( this month ) this will include downtime percentages. These metrics will also be shown in the backend of the app for you to see.

      3. My apologies for this. If support doesn’t work please feel free to email me directly at: [email protected] and I’ll be in touch with you regarding any enquiries or problems.

      4. Yes, Apollo is a fairly new app and we have a public roadmap which you can find here: https://trello.com/b/bvpQ5VGq

We are currently working on private status pages & status page metrics updates. Once this is complete and released we will be moving to SMS notification integration. All of these features will be available this month with extra functionality following shortly.

      Thanks,
      Nathan – Apollo CEO

      • Cuong says:

        Hi Nathan,

        Thanks for your detail reply.

Last question, Apollo plans to support team user ?

        Thanks!

        • Nathan says:

          Hey Cuong,

Yes we will be adding team access at the same time as SSO ( single sign on ).
This feature will be included with the pro account and no upgrade will be needed to allow team users to be added to your Apollo account! 🎉

    • Cyprian says:

You need to do something with Live Chat support.
If you do not use, in return you can provide a form on the web that will be sent by e-mail.
Or unblock comments in RoadMap / Trello?

  • Cuong says:

    Hi,
Can Apollo monitor site load time and alert it as well?

    • Nathan says:

      Hey Cuong,

Apollo already checks the load time of a website when it is checking the status. For free accounts this check is run every 5 minutes and for pro accounts this check is run every minute. If timeout occurs you will be notified via your connected notification channels.

      Thanks,
      Nathan

  • Cuong says:

    Hi,

In case you missed my question, Can I translate public status page into my language or any way to do it?

    Thanks!

    • Nathan says:

      Hey Cuong,

Status pages can’t currently be translated via Apollo directly, however this is something that we will add to the roadmap as we realise many other people will find this feature useful / necessary for the status pages to function to their full potential.

      Thanks,
      Nathan

  • Cuong Tran says:

[Feature Request] Do I have Subscribers feature on public status page that allows end-users to follow the downtime?

  • Jon says:

If I just wanted to use this to get notified when my various sites are down (instead of Jetpack, for example) would it work for that?

I realize that the tool is more powerful than that, but would it work to just always send me an email to tell me when any of my sites that I set it up for are down?

I am talking about WordPress sites.

    • Nathan says:

      Hey there Jon,

Yes, one of apollos core functions is uptime notifications. Currently when apollo detects any downtime it will send you an email, slack notifiction, or pushover notification. SMS support and Zapier support is coming soon. It works with all website types regardless of CMS.

  • Cyprian says:

Apollo can be a great solution.

Will it be possible to monitor other services?
    E.g. POP3, IMAP, SMTP, DNS …

  • Cyprian says:

    Road map: https://trello.com/b/bvpQ5VGq
    Can you enable comments?
    How to submit ideas.

  • Cyprian says:

When do you plan to release Version 1.2?

  • Cyprian says:

What do you think to monitor the version of WordPress that is used on the site.
This can be read from the code.

It would give an overview of whether WordPress needs updating.

  • Hi Jon,

Apologies for this. Seems like there was a temporary bug in the system, everything should be fixed by now 🙂

    Apologies for that.

    – Tom

  • Cyprian says:

Couldn’t you introduce additional display of websites in the form of a list.
So that you can sort e.g. by Name, Expiration of SSL Certificate, etc.

  • Hi,

Thanks for your comment. Sorry to hear about that. Did you fully integrate the app correctly? The feedback we have gotten so far from customers is that it works like a charm.

The team of Apollo has sent out an email earlier this week that the customer service reply time can be a bit longer because of the fact that some employees are affected by the situation regarding the Corona virus.

Please let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime where I can help you with 🙂

    Thanks again!

    – Tom

    • sherkhan says:

I can send your link of the website which is down due to hosting issue. But apolloapp is showing it operational.
I have added 21 websites. After reading this sale page, I thought it will work like charm but a total waste of money, now it’s giving me 504 gateway error. Please guide me the procedure for refund. It’s not recommended at all.

  • sherkhan says:

Its look, you keep only positive comments. 4 Days passed with no support from apolloapp. Its live chat showing message not seen yet. I need refund. Trust me, its bogus service

    • Hi Sherkan,

Thanks for your comment and feedback. We have issued a refund for you immediately. The support of Apollo has some delays because of the founder being sick the past days.. he is slowly recovering, but there is a delay in the response on support. Apologies for this.
