Enable trust, protect your content & prepare for next-generation SEO.

You worked hard to publish a killer article on your WordPress website.

But then you find out that one of your competitors rewrote your content and published it on their website.

This is called patchwriting.

It’s effective.

It saves your competitor a lot of time.

And it happens more than you can imagine…

The good news is that Google is pretty good at detecting duplicate content.

The bad news is that it can be hard for Google to recognize the original source, since:

1) Publication dates are easily tampered with.
2) Google might crawl your competitor’s website before yours

Meaning that your website will be seen as the copycat and you will be penalized in Google by potentially even fully removing your original content from the search engine results.

Well, not anymore with WordProof. It’s a set-and-forget WordPress plugin that puts a “timestamp” on every form of content you publish on your website.

The “timestamp” is accessible for search engines through structured data. Meaning that there is no doubt who published what at a certain moment of time.

How does timestamping work?

Timestamping is relatively simple. A timestamp lets readers know they can trust this piece of content as it has been verified and added to the blockchain.

In the blockchain, the ownership and status of this content lives on in eternity — for all to see and verify. It gives undeniable proof that this content exists, when it first appeared, who wrote it, and when it was last edited, if so.

WordProof makes it easy to timestamp your content. Use their WordPress plugin and automatically timestamp your content and make sure you can prove you were the first to publish the content.

The timestamps show who published the content at which moment.

This applies to your:

  • Posts
  • Pages
  • Custom Post Types
  • Images
  • Videos
  • Documents

Why you should care about timestamping your content today

There actually are a few reasons why you should care:

  1. Bots and other companies are increasingly more likely of copying your content. If you don’t have the timestamping proof that you were the first and original creator of the content, you may be buried in the search results as a result of Google giving you a penalty for duplicate content. Unfair, and unnecessary.
  2. Many of us are concerned about our security, privacy, and loss of self. We see fake news thrive on social media, and regular newspapers struggle to keep their heads above water. We see corruption, foreign interference, and massive disinformation campaigns. This all leads to an important question: Who can you trust? This is also a major priority of Google and other major search engines.
  3. Timestamping content provides a sense of trust for your readers. You show that you take your content seriously. Not only that, by adding it to the blockchain, you can prove without a doubt that you are the owner of this content. Timestamping is a relatively easy solution that helps improve trust and paves the way towards a trusted web.

WordProof is here to help you with that.

The sooner you start with timestamping, the better. By starting today you can avoid getting a penalty in Google in the future for not having proof you were the original creator of the content.

Yoast SEO founder Joost de Valk explaining why timestamping is the next big thing in SEO

Simply activate the plugin, run the set-up wizard and timestamping will start automatically

Just add WordProof to your site with the simple WordPress plugin, run the set-up wizard, and the timestamping will happen fully automatically.

Timestamp anything: pages, blog posts, custom post types, images, videos, documents, and more.

WordProof will notify you if someone is copying your content and you can automatically send a takedown request

WordProof detects when a bot or another company has copied your content.

You will get notified automatically and you can send a takedown request on autopilot, with proof that you were the original creator (and the first one to publish it).

  • If I purchase three of the hobby plans, will I get 300 bonus timestamps?

  • Naftalie says:

Do i have to use the 100 bonus time stamps immediately. I want to start a site, but dont have any articles yet. So is there a end date for the one-off timestamps besides the 25 per month? And to be sure a time stamp is one time stamp per article or document? And is the automated generated take down letter in Dutch? Can you change the language? Thanks for your answer.

    • Hi Naftalie,

Thanks for your questions. The bonus timestamps do not have an expiry date, meaning you can use them whenever you want. Regarding the time stamp credits, yes that is correct, 1 credit equals 1 article or document. The automated letter is in English. Hope that helps 🙂

  • Cdubb says:

Why only 1 website on both deals

    • Thanks for your question! You can purchase multiple deals to add multiple websites, please note that you will have a separate account/environment for each website you add. Hope that helps 🙂

  • Nelson Therrien says:

Since the free account is also 10 timestamps per month, what will I be missing if I just use the free account (in comparison the the Lite plan)?

    • Hi Nelson,

Thanks for your message. In the free account there is no copyright infringement tool and no Schema.org markup and a limited content certficate pop-up.

      Hope that helps 🙂

  • Dennis says:

Does the monthly time stamps apply to every new subsequent 10-25 articles (meaning the timestamps can stack up every month following the growth of my blog )

Or the existing 10-25 articles on my blog would have claimed the monthly timestamps eligibility in that the 26th article onwards will need me to spend money on?

Also, what’s the purpose of the one-time 100 timestamps if I have the 10 or 25 to be renewed every month?

    • Hi Dennis,

Thanks for your question. The monthly timestamps do not roll-over monthly, but the bonus timestamps do, these bonus timestamps are there for when you have your 26th article in the month, that you do not need to upgrade right away but you can use the bonus timestamps instead. Hope that helps 🙂

  • Lisa Silvani says:

Do you plan on adding other languages or this will be forever only in English? Can we also use this for our articles that we submit to social media such as facebook or linkedin?

    • Hi Lisa,

Thanks for your question. Currently 17 languages are supported: Dutch, Dutch (Belgium), English (Australia), English (Canada), English (New Zealand), English (UK), English (US), Italian, Norwegian (Bokmål), Romanian, Russian, Spanish (Ecuador), Spanish (Mexico), Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Venezuela), Swedish, and Ukrainian.

And new ones are added frequently. Regarding articles that you submit to social media, yes this also works, as long as you make sure to also publish it in your WordPress environment 🙂

      Hope that helps!

  • Gijs says:

    Dear,

If I purchase 5 deals can I manage everything from 1 account and share credits between account?
As in; one month website A publishes 26 credits but website B only 7 – can I use credits from website B since everything is in 1 main account?

If I get several codes will I need to create different login’s per code?

Does this plugin work well will rankmath seo or will there be issues?

    Best,

    • Hi Gijs,

Thanks for your questions. You will get separate accounts/environments when buying multiple deals. There is no one main account at this time (you will have a different login per site).

The plugin works perfectly fine with Rankmath SEO. Hope that helps 🙂

      • Gijs says:

        Hi Tom,

So let’s say I buy 5 codes, I will need to use 5 emails/ accounts in order to use everything?
Can you verify if it’s on the roadmap to put everything under 1 account?

Also, if we need extra credits on a certain month, what would that cost?

And, is it possible to switch domains later on if we decide to change our website or use wordpoof for another website?

P.s. the email notification of your response here didn’t work 🙂

        • Hi Gijs,

Yes for now that is the case, however after buying you can also contact the WordProof team if they can potentially manually merge it after you bought it. If you need extra credits it would be regular pricing as mentioned on their website or you can request a custom offer. Yes you can switch domains anytime!

Regarding the email notifications, thanks for letting me know, should be fixed now 🙂

  • selcuksenturk says:

hey there, any chance to add available discount coupon?

  • Mon says:

How does this affect the site speed?

    • Hi Mon,

Thanks for your question. The WordProof plugin does not affect your site speed or PageSpeed rankings as it is a super lightweight and optimized plugin/script.

      Hope that helps!

      – Tom

  • nghia says:

    Hello,

I think you should improve the stack code:

I want to buy 5 codes and have 5 website + 125 credits. I can decide how many credits I will use for each web.

Your sale will be skyrocketing if you have a flexible plan IMO.

  • Alex Lopez says:

it should be more than 1 website and the other tier subscriptions should include more than 5 websites to actually make it attractive

  • Szilvia says:

    Hi,

Does it work for video also?
How about if I want to get the proof, so I publish it on an internal WP page behind login (just for our own records – not for the public), but I want to still monitor the internet for it (eg. we gave a private presentation, recorded it on video and want to make sure the attendees don’t transcript it and publish it in a blog post). Will it look for/protect these?

Lastly, does our blog post updates count as a new time stamp or not?

    Thanks a lot!

  • Ari Januardi says:

where can i see the WordProof’s roudmap?

    • Hi Ari,

Thanks for your question. There is currently no public WordProof roadmap visible, but the team’s current priority to further develop is the automation of copyright infringement tool. Hope that helps 🙂
